claud:
Hiya! My name is Claud and I’ve been patiently waiting since day one to be in Joss’ newsletter. So it’s an absolute honour. I’m a filmmaker and arts facilitator / program producer for Trans & Queer teens. I’m a huge romantic cause it’s the best way to live in my opinion. I love the ocean and swimming in it.
Here are their recommendations for living, both on and offline.
oh shit! hottie alert
this is the online bit
Summer Hill Facebook Group
We all know that Instagram is poison for our brains. And so, whenever I do a 10 hour detox (shut up I know it’s pathetic!), I find myself doom-scrolling Facebook (I know, pathetic!). Between the most foul looking recipe videos and my mum’s Europe pics, there is a very special pocket of the internet. Facebook groups - and specifically, ‘Summer Hill People’ Facebook Group.
You’ve got the usual - folks selling jars of their homemade chilli jam and updates about Nutmeg the lost cat. But a recent post made by an anon member about setting up an ‘adult’ event sent me.
The comment section was even better. Some guy asked if he could be a voyeur to it. Another asked what the male vs female ratio was (the most gross straight thing ever - the other night, i was at a party and overheard these dudes asking a girl what ratio she’d want in a threesome, ew). Anyways, if you’re keen contact the email below and i’ll see you there x
Cheat Codes
Ok I’m about to give you an actual hack for life! The other day, I ordered my groceries online. It was the best thing ever. Yes, I did spend way more money because I usually somehow get some things for free when I shop - random?!! Anyways, it was cold and I didn’t wanna go in that over lit hellscape on a Sunday night. Ew.
Upon checkout it asked if I had any promo codes… so i googled promo codes! And it came up with one that gave me 20% off. I felt like a kid genius. Maybe this is a known thing. But wow. Fuck the system! I love discounted things!
Knee deep in the passenger seat and you’re eating me out - is it casual now?
Sapphic-mermaid-toxic-relationship music video. What more could you want?
My friend Abby showed me Chappell Roan a few years ago. I’ve been obsessed ever since. She’s a high concept, big feels queer artist who sings about shitty exes and sexual awakenings in New York. What a juicy morsel. You’re welcome for the intro.
this is the irl bit
CDs
I just got a new car that doesn’t have an aux chord but it does have a CD player. So I’ve become quite the collector. On my way to the beach (45 min road trip thanks Inner West), I pop a CD in and get to listen to an entire album in order! Just like the old days!
My other favourite part of this whole new CD thing is that every weekend at the markets, I flick through the CDs and feel better than everyone else. It’s like reading a book in public. And I’ve found some absolute classics for $2 a pop. I’m listening to artists that I would never usually take the time to listen to their whole album and also weird shit like ‘the best voices ever - volume 5’.
My creme de la creme of my CD collection are:
Elephunk by Black Eyed Peas - well except for that one song that is still called it’s original name… you know the one!
Tapestry by Carole King
Twilight Soundtrack & New Moon Soundtrack
Tamari Almonds
Best snack ever. I ate so many the other day that I felt sick! Worth it tho.

yum!
Catching the Sunset
It’s that time of year again where it’s getting cold and dark - I personally love it. When you breathe, you can see your breath and that’s never not kinda beautiful and nostalgic.
We have less time out in the sun so I’ve been trying to make the most of it. I know we all know about sunsets and that they’re beautiful etc. But when was the last time you took some time out of your day to just watch it? I’ve been trying to do it every day. I go for a walk and listen to some music and just let myself be a silly little human for 45 minutes. It breaks up the work day and helps you unwind into the evening. Sometimes I put wine in a keep cup too…
hope u have awesome day xxxx
