jack:
My name is Jack. I am a hairdresser, creative director and all round stoked that Joss Peter herself reached out to ask my opinions on things! I live in a house in Marrickville with 3 of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. I like eating burgers and I love spending time with my pals. I’m here to tell you about some things I’ve been fancying lately. Some online, some IRL. Come with me and check it out.

this is the online bit:
Do you like a bit of fashion and have YouTube? Well, let me tell you about a little show called PAQ. PAQ is a radical bit of chewing gum for the brain. It follows four English chums on fashion adventures around the globe. You can see the likes of celebrity styling challenges, op shop budget challenges and much, much more. It’s simple, it’s funny, and it’s great for fashion inspiration. If I am ever in a slump or have no idea what to wear for the day, I don’t leave the house until I’ve sat down for an episode (or 20) of PAQ indulging in my avocado toast mit der homemade chilli oil and a Nespresso long black with a squirt of lion’s mane. I hope you enjoy it :)
If you’re anything like me, you’re a sucker for a nifty life hack. Which brings me to my next suggestion for y’all. Creative Explained. Creative Explained is a Dutch TikTok/Instagram sensation. He’s taken the world by storm with inventive ways to clean your household, grow plants, and make your day-to-day life easier. My favourite one of his videos is the one where he teaches you how to iron out water marks from your table and use lemon, bi-carb and vinegar to fizzle off the burn marks from your pots and pans. His enthusiastic smile and endearing winks make it all that much easier and lovely to enjoy.
TripIt
My third and final online recommendation for you is an app called TripIt. TripIt is the best itinerary application there is. When organising a trip, you can make your life much easier by using this app. You can link your email to TripIt so whenever you book something (e.g., a flight or accommodation) it will automatically attach your booking information to your itinerary neatly and beautifully. I’ve used it the past few times I’ve been travelling and it’s made everything much easier. I now can’t travel without it.

The Mandarin Centre
The Mandarin Centre was introduced to me by my brother Samuel. He claimed it was the best place to experience a film. I was in disbelief, mainly because I didn’t want to travel to Chatswood from Marrickville just to see a film. Well, here I am to tell you, don’t be lazy, get to the Mandarin Centre in Chatswood. Pre-movie, head into the food court. You will be greeted by an abundance of Asian cuisine, my favourite being Chinese hot pot. Pick up your bowl, head to the bar and fill it with whatever fresh goodies you want. Once you’ve filled your bowl with an array of fresh exotic ingredients, you are then able to pick a broth and noodles. The staff will weigh your bowl and you will pay accordingly. Once you’ve slurped down as much of your (likely HUGE) bowl of soup as you can, you will make your way up the escalator to the cinema. You will walk into a beautifully curated snack section, complete with an array of refillable fizzy drinks. Once you’re well equipped with your snacks you might think life couldn’t get any better. Until you get to where you are sitting: huge leather seats with no obstructing view. The best part is the chairs mechanically recline to your perfect viewing position. Top all this off with a humongous screen and you have yourself the perfect place to sink in. Sit back, relax and enjoy. I implore you to go and I assure you, you will have a delightful time.

Sydney Food Adventures
My friend Jack and I have discussed on many occasions the fact that many of our loved ones are leaving Sydney and how much of a shame it is. Since neither of us are going anywhere any time soon, we decided it was time to really explore Sydney, be tourists in our own city. We realised an amazing way to do this would be by following our tummies. We quickly spread word to our Swedish-bound king, Max, and decided to create Sydney Food Adventures. Sydney, when you venture beyond the inner city, contains a plethora of cultures and cuisines. Every few weeks, Max, Jack and I, along with whoever else wants to explore, will pick a spot in Sydney that is notorious for having the best range of a particular cuisine. My personal favourite thus far is Harris Park, colloquially known as Little India. If you’re in search of a beautiful Indian feast, head west and be enriched by the incredible sights, scents and tastes. Then in a couple of weeks venture somewhere else! Sydney is full of life, get out there and taste this abundant city!

Social Touch Footy
Growing up, I played rugby. For 14 years. I absolutely loved it. That was until all the male bravado took over and people became more concerned with fighting and injuring each other. I reluctantly left rugby behind, which is probably for the best as I would have likely been constantly injured and the culture around ‘footy’ is questionable.
This year, I rediscovered a way to play again, but safely and happily. Touch Footy. A Lovely friend Ange reached out to see who would be keen to play a weekly friendly touch footy competition. My hand shot straight up. Of course! Let’s get the best parts of this sport I love and leave the rest out. It’s such a fun way to see your friends each week and you even get some exercise in. I've been fortunate enough to play in a team with some old friends, some new friends and some in between – people I’ve loved getting closer with. Top it all off with a post-game eggplant schnitty and you’re smiling ear to ear!
lol (lots of love!) xxx
